In St. Petersburg, at the V forum “Smart Oil & Gas: Digital Transformation of the Oil and Gas Industry”, the winners of the 11th annual competition “Best IT Projects for the Oil and Gas Industry” were awarded. The solution of the Simpl company , developed with the support of Gazprom Neft PJSC and ITSK LLC, won in the nomination “Specialized Software Solution”.
Irina Dmitrieva, Head of Integrated Planning Department of Gazprom Neft Production Directorate, noted that before the introduction of a unified information system, the company had usedcalculation modules based on Excel books for planning. And due to large amount of information, it was difficult to control the consistency and immutability of data while planning and monitoring investment projects. But now there is a unified information system that allows planning production for each well for 100 years in advance. The tool is already used in eight of the company’s assets, as well as the Scientific and Technical Center and the Corporate Center.
– Using machine learning to work with statistical information has significantly reduced the labor costs of users when forming clusters for calculating average decline rates, – said Irina Dmitrieva. – The quality of control over production planning has significantly improved. The system allows systematizing the process of coordinating calculated data, building a transparent “initiator – approver” system. Thanks to the integration of the project with related departments (seamless data transfer), the problem of data fragmentation is solved. The development allows for well-by-well monitoring of oil production, as well as building a probabilistic model of oil production volumes for the purpose of risk assessment.
The main criteria of the competition, according to which the jury selected the projects, were scalability, innovation, as well as complexity, transparency and efficiency (increasing the profitability of the enterprise). The development of the Simpl group of companies is unique in that it is the first Russian IT product in Upstream, which allowed for an end-to-end, cross-functional process of operational and investment activities.
The competition accepted projects that were developed or implemented in 2018-2019. This year, the jury selected winners from 78 solutions in five nominations: “Specialized software solution for the oil and gas industry”, “Digital field”, “Digital plant”, “Information security” and “Industrial automation”.
