On February 15, the first forum “Corporations in Digital” was held in Moscow. The event was held in person, with more than 260 participants. The speakers were executives and top managers of large captive companies. Experts discussed how the functions of captive IT companies had changed over the past two years and what motivates corporations to create digital products on their own. The event was organized by the ComNews Information Group.
Simpl executives attended the forum to strengthen their connection with senior executives of captive companies and learn more about their goals and plans to advance their in-house products and bring them to the digital market. Experts noted that subsidiaries of IT companies of large corporations were starting to gain momentum and the developments of some players were already presented on the market, while the industrial IT sector was just beginning to think about replicating its solutions.
Also during the discussion among captive companies, there was an opinion that they were becoming competitors to each other. “Each corporation develops its own platforms that solve the same problems. Since the market is in the formation stage, many companies put forward high demands on vendors, because their future is unpredictable (bankruptcy, acquisition by other companies). And outsourcing companies are expected to have strong industry competencies,” emphasized Mikhail Savinykh, CEO of IT company Simpl.
As a result of the forum, the Simpl team managed to communicate with top managers of several captive companies and discuss their vision of the digital market development and the possibility of commercializing products. The companies are ready to communicate and consider options for cooperation in solving complex technical issues – this is a positive signal that will strengthen cooperation between IT subsidiaries of vendor corporations and outsourcers.
