Simpl Group of Companies acted as a general participant at the V Federal IT Forum “Smart Oil & Gas 2019: Digital Transformation of the Oil and Gas Industry”, where the company’s developments aroused wide interest among industry representatives.
In 2019, the forum was attended by more than 550 delegates. Heads of integrator and vendor companies, digital transformation directors and heads of IT services of key oil and gas companies in Russia discussed current problems in digitalization of the industry and shared their experience in solving them.
Igor Sivkov, Chief of the Corporate Solutions Department at Simpl, gave a presentation entitled “Digitalization in Upstream: from Isolated Systems to Cross-Functional Solutions” at one of the key events of the business program. In his presentation, he compared the problems of IT solutions with a scene from the film “People and Mannequins”, in which Arkady Raikin received an absolutely unsuitable, crooked and funny suit from a tailor. Despite the absurd of the product, each tailor from the performing atelier, responsible for his direction, did an “A”: the buttons are good and sewn on tightly, there are no complaints about the pockets (good, large pockets), and the trousers are there, and the sleeves … only mixed up in places.
– Such a visual image is similar to the problems of mass automation of processes in companies, – explained Igor Sivkov. – There are no questions specifically for each tool, but the solutions are generally specific and isolated. World practice shows that problems of this level, especially in our core, extractive industry, are solved by the end-to-end implementation of vertical platforms.
– The implemented solution, created in direct interaction with the business, implements a model of cross-functional business process. Such a model allows to reduce labor costs, planning cycle time, minimize the influence of the human factor, increase the efficiency of investment projects, reduce the volume of investments in ineffective projects, potentially making the system a significant part of the company’s integration platform. As a result, all these factors maximize business profits dozens of times – commented Mikhail Savinykh, CEO of Simpl.
One of the key stages of the first day’s business program was the awarding of the winners of the annual IT projects competition, where the jury selected the strongest projects from 74 applications. The program “Terra Business Planning Calculation Module: a comprehensive solution for planning and monitoring production indicators and investment actions “, developed by Simpl together with ITSC LLC and Gazprom Neft PJSC, won in the Specialized Software Solution nomination.
